These working pairs have several drawbacks and so, their applicattion has been seriously affected. Therefore, academia as much as industry are looking with great interest ionic liquids (IL´s) alternatives. In this context, IL´s thermophysical characterization acting as absorbants in absorption heat pumps togehther with natural refrigerants as water, ammonia or carbon dioxide is critical for their implementation. That is why design and characterization of IL´s will be main goal of this work. Apart from experimental measurements theoretical modelization will be used in order to predict IL´s properties as a function of their chemical estructure.
