RT Dissertation/Thesis T1 Reduction of emissions in biomass combustion systems T2 Reducción de emisiones en sistemas de combustión de biomasa A1 Rico Fuentes, Juan Jesús K1 3322.05 Fuentes no Convencionales de Energía K1 3303.06 Tecnología de la Combustión AB In this research project an advancement on the knowledge on non-conventional techniques and systems focused on the reduction of pollutant emissions originated in biomass combustion facilities is intended. The research intends to study all the combustion-derived emissions, be they solid (ash and particulate matter), liquid (tar) or gaseous (carbon monoxide, dioxide, nitrogen oxides or volatile organic compounds), designing techniques for their quantification and strategies for their diminishment. With an experimental approach non-conventional measures are developed and improved, such as the utilization of porous inert materials or the oxycombustion, aiming to evaluate their effects on biomass combustion on low-power facilities. A deeper understanding of the processes and mechanisms governing combustion and the formation of pollutant substances is expected to be achieved, and by means of it the search for the optimal conditions of combustion is expected to advance.
