A lavandeira de San Simón: a memoria das voces silenciadas

Abstract

Despois de referirse á complexa definición do álbum ilustrado dado o seu hibridismo, trázase unha breve evolución do álbum en Galicia desde a súa tímida emerxencia na segunda metade do século XX ata o revulsivo provocado polas editoras pontevedresas Kalandraka e OQO. De entre o amplo repertorio de álbums galegos, detense en A lavandeira de San Simón, escrito por Eva Mejuto e ilustrado por Bea Gregores, debido a que é o primeiro que aborda a Guerra Civil española. Faise un percorrido analítico polas súas diferentes páxinas, atendendo sobre todo ás relacións que se establecen entre o texto e as ilustracións, para recrear unha ficción que se fai eco das duras consecuencias da guerra, especialmente entre as vítimas sempre silenciadas: as mulleres e as nenas. Conclúese que a emoción e a reflexión se entrecruzan para recompoñer a memoria colectiva da Guerra Civil española desde as historias persoais e en minúscula.

After discussing the complex definition of the picture book given its hybridity, this article briefly traces its evolution in Galicia from its slow emergence in the second half of the 20th Century to the transformation caused by the Pontevedra publishers Kalandraka and OQO. From the vast repertoire of Galician picture books, the article examines A lavandeira de San Simón, written by Eva Mejuto and illustrated by Bea Gregores, as it is the first to address the Spanish Civil War. The book is analysed paying particular attention to the relationship established between the text and the illustrations in order to recreate a fiction that echoes the harsh consequences of war, especially among the victims that are always silenced: women and girls. The conclusion points out that emotion and reflection intersect to reassemble the collective memory of the Spanish Civil War from personal and apparently minor stories.
