ABSTRACT
Introduction: Since the accession of Spain to the EU in 1986, it has always supported the further elaboration of a CSDP and has been one of the major partners in European military operations. The first kind of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (HR) was the ex minister and ex secretary general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Javier Solana and only back in February 2015, the experienced Spanish diplomat Jorge Domecq was appointed Chief Executive (CE) of the EDA. Spain is the most active member and thus surpasses activities of the other MS with stronge defence industries such as United Kingdom (UK) or France. This close relationship also has an economic background as the national aero spatial and defence industry employs more than 60.000 people and with a volume of activity of almost 13 billion of euros.
