Point clouds obtained by laser scanning or photogrammetry have emerged as a source of data with great potential for the measurement of deformations in structures and construction. Deformations is not only relevant in structures and buildings, but also in small (>1 m) metallic pieces subjected to loads. The aim of this work is to propose a methodology, and develop the corresponding algorithms, that allow measuring the deformation produced in pieces subjected to two different loads, using point cloud data collected with LiDAR technology and different reference system. The methodology developed has been tested with a deformed piece with different loads in the laboratory. The results obtained with errors less than a ±0.020 mm demonstrated the validity of the proposed methodology.en
